Setup
Configure the Booking Bot
The Booking Bot tells Amy what she is allowed to book, which rules to follow, and how to answer common questions using your FAQ knowledge base.
Where to configure
In the product, open Settings and use the Booking Bot / related setup sections (including FAQs, providers or staff who take appointments, rooms/resources, and age or eligibility limits when shown).
First-run banner
New accounts often show a Booking Bot setup banner on the dashboard. Complete those steps before advertising your Amy number publicly.
Recommended setup order
-
Providers / bookable staff
Add the people or resources callers can book with. Amy can only offer what you configure. -
Rooms, chairs, or resources
Define where appointments happen so the schedule board and Amy stay aligned. -
Hours and booking rules
Set when booking is allowed. Include buffers, lead time, and any blackout patterns your business uses. -
Eligibility limits
If your location restricts booking by age or other criteria, set those limits so Amy does not offer invalid slots. -
FAQs
Add clear question-and-answer pairs Amy should use for hours, parking, preparation, pricing policies, cancellation rules, and directions. -
Transfer / escalation
Confirm how Amy should hand off to a human when the caller needs help outside her scope. -
Test again
Place another short inbound call and verify both FAQ answers and a test booking.
Writing FAQs that work on calls
- Use the wording customers actually say (“Do you take walk-ins?”)
- Keep answers short and speakable — Amy reads them aloud
- Avoid internal jargon; prefer plain language
- Update FAQs when hours, offers, or policies change
Tip
Start with 8–12 high-impact FAQs. Expand after you hear real call transcripts or staff feedback.
What Amy can typically do once configured
